Vietnam is removing all COVID restrictions on international passengers. Besides, there will be no limitations on the number of flights. Vietnam will now allow the entry of fully-vaccinated travellers from March 15. However, travellers will still have to quarantine while they wait for their antigen test results.To recover from the loss of the pandemic, Vietnam has decided to restore the frequency of flights to the pre-pandemic level. The nation is targeting to fully reopen the nation by June 2022. As per reports, international arrivals in Vietnam sunk to around 3.8 million in 2020 from 18 million in 2019, giving a harsh blow to the tourism sector.
Vietnam Planned To Resume Flights From December 15
Vietnam planned to resume international flights from December 15 in two phases. In the first phase, the flights were to connect Vietnam to destinations such as Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, Beijing, Singapore, and San Francisco. The flights were to run from Vietnam’s international airports of Noi Bai in Hanoi, and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam To Allow International Travellers To Its UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Vietnam has planned to allow tourists from approved countries to its UNESCO world heritage sites Hoi An and Halong Bay, Nha Trang and Dalat islands. Though it is planning to reopen for foreigners, it has not revealed from which countries it will be accepting tourists.
Neighbouring Country Thailand Takes Steps To Boost Tourism
Thailand has been taking various steps to boost tourism in the country. Recently, Phuket reopened to fully vaccinated travellers from across the globe without quarantine under the sandbox programme. Thailand is also planning to allow international tourists in Bangkok, Chon Buri, Ranong and Chiang Mai.
