India is home to many mesmerising waterfalls. The cascading Chitrakoot waterfalls in Chattisgarh is often referred to as the Niagara of India due to its mighty volume and breathtaking beauty. It lies on river Indravati, amid the dense forests of the Bastar district. Having mentioned that, two other Indian waterfalls have made themselves on the list of the best waterfalls in the world. A recent study has revealed the most spectacular waterfalls in the world and India’s Jog Falls and Dudhsagar Falls are also among them.

Jog Falls, India’s Third Highest Plunge Waterfall

The Jog Falls, the third-highest plunge waterfall in India, is located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. It drains into the Sharavati river after cutting through the lush Western Ghats. On the list of free-falling waterfalls in the world, it holds the 36th rank. It is a set of four falls that lie deep within the forest. To get to the location, visitors must walk around 1500 steps uphill. The waterfall is at its best form during the monsoon, which is the most ideal time to visit the spot.

Dudhsagar Falls, The Sea Of Milk

Often referred to as the sea of milk, this four-tired waterfall in Goa is nothing short of surreal. Plunging from a height of roughly 1020 feet, it is India’s fifth-highest waterfall. Also, it is one of the most popular monsoon destinations in Goa. It lies amid one of the greenest deciduous forests in India. There is a train station nearby and various trains on the route pass through the falls. Dudhsagar Falls looks ordinary in the dry months, but in monsoons, it gets feds by rain and turns phenomenal.
